YES

Postby mr kite on Mon Nov 19, 2007 8:10 pm

YES .

One of the very finest prog rock bands and the 70s they where at there peak with the classic line up
Jon Anderson - Vocals , guitar , harp .
Steve Howe - Guitars
Chris Squire - Bass
Rick Wakeman - Keyboards
Alan White - Drums .

YES went through many changes in the early 70s and after there second album Time And A Word , Peter Banks
was replaced by Steve Howe and they recorded THE YES ALBUM and you could hear that the band were growing
in confidence .
A brilliant live performance of Yours Is No Disgrace .

Short but sweet ,

Heres the man Steve Howe .

It's a Yes thread! :D

Favourite songs so far:
And You and I
Going for the One
Turn of the Century
Owner of a Lonely Heart

I also like I've Seen All Good People and Wonderous Stories :)

Haha, you know how you said "Yes went thorugh many changes"... I was reading up about Yes the other day and I lost track of who was in, who was out, and who was back in!

Oh yeah, I think Jon Anderson has a really great voice! 8) Been to his official website... looks like he does awesome paintings too :)
Would you believe me if I told you I was being followed by a Yellow Submarine?

Yes, its YES!

Favourite Songs so far:
Turn of the Century
And You And I
Going for the One
Wonderous Stories

(Top Four)

Yeah, they went through a lot of changes... but what I remember (that Octie told me) was that one day Jon had a dream that he was given the name Jonathan and so the next he decided to drop the "h" and hence he became Jon!

Great voice the man has! Good looking too! Look!

Nice background too!

Ahhhh.... *sigh* ;)

And here's a quote he said about the Beatle ... " I wanted to be a Beatle, or at least come from Liverpool..."

He has a brilliant webpage (and a great MySpace! ;) )

ahem.

One day Mr Kite returned home from work. And typically as usual he went straight to admire his collection of signed photos and cd covers. But something was different that day. Something is missing, thought the Kite to himself. He then realized that his YES autographed things were not there. OH NO! he said to himself. But where? when? why? who? He walked up and down up and down pacing here there and instinctively looked out of the window. Perhaps the thief is outside? Then something about the tree in the garden caught his eye. He looked at the tree, becuase there was something not right about it... The Kite thought for a minute or two or so and without noticing a bottle of honey on a branch on the tree he sighed and went to his room.

You know, I got the idea that Jonnie A was the sort of I-have-this-big-magnificent-idea-and-you-must-all-like-it man and then when someone goes against his ideas he would sulk at the corner and look at you with big puppy eyes and so you would have to go "yea all right jon. "
