Song Improvements

Postby Honey_Tree on Mon Oct 15, 2007 10:09 am

Do you think that some Beatles songs could be improved? For example, I think the "nananana" in Hey Jude could have been minimized, perhaps making each of Golden Slumbers, Carry that Weight and The End longer, All You Need is Love in the end could be cut down perhaps on the instrumentals...

By no means I am saying that these songs are not good but if you had the power... how would you change their songs?

if i had the power, i would totally mess with the track order on abbey road for a start i love every song on it but ive always thought that maccas songs in the melody fit so well together with them all using the same chord arrangement, but lennons always seemed a bit out of place to me so id put lennons to the start of the medly then have mccartneys run after them

I would probably make Hey Jude a little shorter.

I don't know if this counts as an 'improvement' but if I could I would've recorded and included more George compositions on some of the albums

thats for sure creme, to be honest my favorite George stuff was from the psychedelic era like blue jay way, northern song ..... i think it wasn't that his songs were poor but more that john/paul really didn't wanna share album space.

which looking back may have been a mistake as there is at least 1 lennon/mccartney song per album that wasn't very good and george could easily have had a song in its place and made the album a little better

I agree as well..I wish George could have been able to perform more songs when he was with the Beatles. But I think he was a bit more successful after the group broke up with his albums.

But anyway as for the songs to be improved...maybe some of the really short songs like Mean Mr. Mustard, and MaggieMae could have been a little bit longer.
