About Yellow Submarine, okay it was a cute song when you're little but after a while, it gets REALLY annoying! Sorry to the people that really like it. Anyways, it's a song that almost every little kid hears. And a lot of the time, it's the only song that a non-fan will hear. So then for them, it becomes the song the symbolises the Beatles to them. So whenever they hear 'the Beatles' they think instantly to 'that annoying song about a yellow submarine we had to listen to in elementary school' and it sticks with them in their teens. They won't give the Beatles a chance because they only can think of Yellow Submarine. This is all from personal experience, it's happened so many times, when someone will tell me that they won't listen the the Beatles because of YS, I was talking to this girl at camp once, and I was telling that I like the Beatles, her instant reaction to that was, "Aren't they the ones who sang that song about a Yellow Submarine, Ew" and I told her basically what I wrote in this post, about how people stereotype the Beatles for Yellow Submarine and how she should be more open. It's not a totally awful song but the fact that people I've spoken to won't listen to other Beatles songs because they fear they're all like Yellow Submarine, is a bit of a problem to me. How can you judge a band by just one song?
Wow, long post, just had to get that out. *deep breath*
Hey! You've got to hide your love away!
