THE Beatles song

Postby Honey_Tree on Mon Oct 15, 2007 10:11 am

Which song do you reckon symbolizes the Beatles most? Or which song reflects the Beatles ?

I suppose All You Need Is Love for the later years and She Loves You for the early? :?

Please Please Me, Hey Jude, or dare I say it, Yellow Submarine
Everything under the sun is in tune
But the sun is eclipsed by the moon

No, I like it too.
It's just that it isn't the song people should characterize the Beatles by IMO

*backs up* I like Yellow Submarine! We all live in it anyway

but... I don't actually know which song symbolises the Beatles... there are so many good ones... I'll really have to think on it more
Would you believe me if I told you I was being followed by a Yellow Submarine?

Yeah there are too many Beatles songs that can symbolize them...All You Need is Love could symbolize them for love...or Magical Mystery Tour because of the bus...not really sure.

About Yellow Submarine, okay it was a cute song when you're little but after a while, it gets REALLY annoying! Sorry to the people that really like it. Anyways, it's a song that almost every little kid hears. And a lot of the time, it's the only song that a non-fan will hear. So then for them, it becomes the song the symbolises the Beatles to them. So whenever they hear 'the Beatles' they think instantly to 'that annoying song about a yellow submarine we had to listen to in elementary school' and it sticks with them in their teens. They won't give the Beatles a chance because they only can think of Yellow Submarine. This is all from personal experience, it's happened so many times, when someone will tell me that they won't listen the the Beatles because of YS, I was talking to this girl at camp once, and I was telling that I like the Beatles, her instant reaction to that was, "Aren't they the ones who sang that song about a Yellow Submarine, Ew" and I told her basically what I wrote in this post, about how people stereotype the Beatles for Yellow Submarine and how she should be more open. It's not a totally awful song but the fact that people I've spoken to won't listen to other Beatles songs because they fear they're all like Yellow Submarine, is a bit of a problem to me. How can you judge a band by just one song?

Wow, long post, just had to get that out. *deep breath*

Great post, heyjude. Personally, i wasnt one of these kids who listened to YS in elementary school but yes, one cannot jusdge a group by just one song. But on the contrary to what you said, one can be like "Oooh! YS i love that song! I used to listen to it when I was a teeny-weeny".

Great avatar by the way!

I'm not bashing YS, I mean I could of said any other song but YS (at least in my school/city) people seem to use that song as an excuse to not give the Beatles a chance. And I don't personally hate it but it's never been a completely favourite of mine either.

ALL WE ARE SAYING, IS GIVE THE BEATLES A CHANCE!!! :D

>Oh and thanks about the avatar, Creme Tangerine (well I guess she's not CT on this forum but oh well) showed me it. 8)
