Were The 80s That Bad ?

Postby mr kite on Sat Apr 26, 2008 4:29 pm

When you start digging down a dark deep hole and there is no light , and then through the dirt and mud , you find a diamond , you think , there is something precious in the dark deep hell hole , which is what i call the 80s .
This is just my opinion of course , but here is some diamonds that shone from the 80s . :)
Any thoughts ?, any one has a arguement ?, about the 80s , i`m ready in my corner i have my gloves on and i`m ready to go !
Don`t be scared ,i will be gentle for the first bout . :P

I think the '80's were GREAT!!!! "Hair Bands", speed metal, and "big hair". And did you know "big hair" for the ladies is coming back in style???? Saw it last week in the style section of the newspaper. I'm there and have always been there with the big hair.....

NOOOO ! The 80s were hell , the clothes the music and rock music it was at a all time low my god grown men putting streaks in there hair , wearing scarfs and yeh headbands and worst of all spandex, my god what went wrong .
Here is a my first evidence of 80s hell .
Now before you watch this Whitesnake were a good band in the late 70s , i should know i went to see them twice , and then for some strange reason unknown to me and other music lovers Dave C LOST THE PLOT ! look at the hair ! the fake tan! the girlfriend ! i mean i spent my entire youth at rock fests , discos and concerts and i never ever seen a girl like that !
And the band well jesus what the ... lets pose with are guitars .. my god .
Before you watch it make sure you have a sick bag handy , im ok i only watched half of it and i manged to keep my lunch from launching
Whitesanke - This is crap !

I agree about the girlfriend...not very 80s, but whats wrong with the hair? reminds me of Led Zep... [dont kill me :? ]

I suppose every decade has its crap but not all 80s were bad, the posts you posted before show this Kite

The early 80s werent that bad... Like Abba for example. Generally I find, the more modern something is the more crap it is. Especially in music and films... thats just me though :?

I like the 80's although there was lot of crap and songs that when you hear them now you stop and think what piece of crap is this... Sure I was into Culture Club, Wham and I still like Duran Duran to this day... But the 80's brought us U2...:P

I wouldnt say the music you put up here is very bad... Rocking in the Free world is vey good.

as for the quiz... let see
bass player - Tony Levin
Connection to U2 - Bono does vocals and backing vocals in 2 songs of the album Somewhere down the crazy river is off... Is this the connection you meant, Kitie? I have the suspicion its not... :?
The girl is....A stab at the dark.... Maria McKee?

Here's another question: what's the link to the Beatles? 8)

Sweet Fire of Love - Robbie Robertson and Bono

Hmm... not too keen on RR... :? I see what you mean 80s music was crap.... :? but we mustnt generalize

[note to self: Tony Levin was in KC, played with PG and BB!]

Rockin In The Free World is one of my altimers 8)
The conection question ?
Conection to what ? the song or Robbie ?
But i do know Tony Levin is on Johns Double Fantasy :) [ no need for mr google there H. ]

Marie McKee with her band Lone Justice .
Wait till we get home . 8)
