Many artists I was into in the 70s all seem to loose the plot in the 80s , but Kate was not one for following
trends and with The Dreaming album she was so far out of the 80s bland pop they called it her Kates gone
mad album but is just as good today as it was then , and her next album was indeed a masterpiece
Hounds Of Love , with the concept Ninth Wave, the critics had to bite there tounges, Kate was one on her
own . 8)

The Sensual World - From the album The Sensual World .

And then over a cup of tea
We talked about whatever that came to our heads
That was delightful, I said

Like Gabriel, Kate's agenda is all her own. No following fads, she makes the music she wants to, simple as.

Not really 80s but, I wasn't too impressed with Aerial... I think the special thing in Kate is her high pitched voice and the lyrics... but i think over the years those quality began to fade? I mean I'm no expert, just a beginner in Kate's world (thanks to Mr Kite) . I find Aerial to be extremely slooooow and loooong (ie the songs) and it seems to me there is a lack of beat and rhythem in most songs. Sunset is a nice song. And generally I found A Sky of Honey better than A Sea of Honey.

Umm, wasn't Lyra (or whatever the song from Golden Compass is called) meant to be on Aerial? (unless i missed it)

"beautiful and intellectual" , I would certainly agree.

That was very interesting, thank you Kitie. Very clever with the double bass being a symbol for the husband [i would never have thought of that...] As for the story of the song, I'm sure I heard a similar stroy... I dont remember where.

Aw, she has such a sweet voice! So english! Sweet accent. She reminds me of a little girl with pigtails and balloon. :D :P

I love it when artists talk about their song meanings. Unfortunately not many do. Actually, one of my favourite topics is analysing [you can cal it] a song. One thing I'd really love to hear is any YES member talk about their songs, that will never happen though, would it? [sorry going off the KB topic]

Thank you so much for that Kitie, great find!

PS.
Aha! you see- she enjoys the choriography! :P
