A thread dedicated to the lovely Jon Anderson, aka Jonnie A [by me] ! He is the lead singer of YES who during the late 70s made a album with Greek musician Vangelis called Olias of Sunhillow. And from then on, Jonnie A's music has been expanding and getting better all the time.
Thanks must go to Mr Kitie who showed me the way! Thank you Kitie! :D

Here's Loved by the Sun [Jonnie A and Tangerine Dream ] from Ridley Scott's "Legend" (1986) Starring Tom Cruise and Mia Sara

^ That's a very cool clip 8) And a nice song :D

The solo-Jonnies that I particularly like are:
>First Song
>Loved by the Sun
>I'll Find My Way Home
>Chagall Duet
>Island of Life
>Shine

There are some more that I like but these are the ones that spring to mind now :)

He's got a lovely voice, has Jonnie A :D
Would you believe me if I told you I was being followed by a Yellow Submarine?

Yea, Chagal Duet is a great tune, with such lovely and honest [from the character pov] lyrics [specifically the first part sang by Jonnie]! I love how Jonnie's and the woman's [not sure who she is] voices blend together! Magical! No YouTube for it though...

Here's Isalnd of Life

Here's Lady of Dreams [also with Kitaro]. The clip is some scenery but the music is Jonnie!

Here's I Hear You Know [With Vangelis]

I'll Find My Way Home [with Vangelis] - just images

And When The Night Comes is my all time Jonnie A favourite! Sadly, I cant find a youtube for it...

Well, he made more than one album with Vangelis and they all sound great. The two songs you posted with Kitaro are from Kitaro's album "Dream", and in fact Jon sings in three songs there (Islands of Life, Lady of Dreams and Agreement). Fantastic album and Jon's voice is thrilling.

He was in Sofia on tour some months ago and I was soooo pleased. I managed to shoot a small video, not very good picture, but you can hear his voice solo (this is one song before the end of the concert, he's just pro). And his wife was sitting on the front row (we were just behind her), smiling at him all the time, humming the songs, and he was looking at here most of the time - they're really in love and by seeing it one feels wonderful. He was wonderful, one man with a guitar and a voice and nothing more, he was kind, funny, fantastic, he was spreading so much warmth and happiness and goodness and kindness, wonredful person. He stayed after the concert giving autograph, talking to everyone, taking his time - he is a big star but you could't tell by his atitude so I suppose that makes him not only big star but a big man also.

And there's another video, Jon with Mike Oldfield, another favourite composer of mine:

You saw him?????!!!!! Damn it, if only there were things as the Pensieve..... One day, One day Honey..... *voice inside her head: dream on sunshine, dream on* [dont worry , i often talk to myself....]

I read in an interview with him and the interviewer asked him if he gets nervous while performs on stage. And Jon answered, that he does a bit in the begining but he knows that his wife is there and that makes him not nervous.... Awwww!

He wrote a song about her too!!!!! <3 <3 <3

Shine is a brilliant song! He did another nice song with Mike Oldfield called In High Places. Oh, that is a beautiful song. 8)

I have recently got, Animation - great album. Wonderful voice, lyrics and music.

Yes, and he sang it on the concert. I'm sure you'll have the chance to see him, as far as I understand there will be a Yes tour soon.

Mr.Kite - and I hope you liked the album in question ;)

Can anyone tell why there are two Candle Songs on different albums?

There's Anyone Can Light a Candle on Page of Life (1991) and there is Candle Song on Change We Must (1994). The lyrics are the same but the tune is slightly different. For example in Anyone Can Light a Candle there's a flute solo [i think] and Jon's voice is less strong, as it were, than the Candle Song version.

Could anyone shed some (candle) light?
