December 1st Aniversery of Death

Postby GlassOnion on Wed Dec 17, 2008 12:47 am

December 1st 2001 was when George died. Yeah sad day for Beatles and Beatles fans all over. Sonne and me were talking last night and were like when was it when he died. It was December 1st. I was like OMG I didn't know and that was just a few weeks ago it happened? I saw an interview with Paul on youtube and he said his music will live on forever and I think it does.

This is the youtube video we watched the other night. So sad :(

I remember where I was when I found out. I was in Birmingham with my ex, we were on our way visiting her brother in...let's just say a governmental institution for naughty adults

We was in the town centre walking our way to the train station on the way there, when I spotted a newspaper stand with the terrible news in BIG BOLD LETTERS. I was shocked and stunned, and to make the day even worse was that my ex couldn't even comprehend why I was even sad. I realise he's a famous celebrity and not a member of my own family, but he's been a big influence in my life growing up to today.

RIP George. Good karma will still always be with you :)

Yes, that is a sad video, I watched it a few years back. The part where Paul says that he came to visit George a few days before his death and that George knew he was dying... that was very sad to hear.

Sad it is to say, i wasn't a Beatles fan at that time, so I only knew about his death a few years after it, 2005 perhaps.

I had this conversation once with my friends, should we be sad about a death of a famous person? I think I will be sad , but not for long and I would definately not cry for days or be depressed... Sure, I'll be sad that someone I enjoy watching or listening to has passed away , but as long as their music and film live on... Does that make me a heartless person? :?
